The Taiga M (the smaller brother of the Taiga L) is another flagship model of the Kizlyar Company and was one of first serial numbered knife ever produced. The knife has been in production for nearly 13 years and has maintained its popularity throughout this time. Those who know Kizlyar models well, would remember the older versions of the Taiga-M featuring the motif of a pack of a pack of wolves on the blade. The standard motif on the new version, still features the motif of a howling wolf in the night with the backdrop of the mountainous ranges Taiga forests. The deep acid etching is entirely done by hand and the final drawing is well detailed.
A special construction process is utilized to avoid splitting of the wood. This being that the handle slabs are cut on an angle so that the wood grain runs at a bisecting angle in respect to the surface of the handle slab to preventing cracking. The wood is also impregnated with natural oils that preserve it and prevent warping.
The blade is mirror polished and then deep etched using several treatments of an acid etching process that yields a detailed 3 dimensional picture. The depth of the etching offsets the wearing-off of the image over time and prolonged use. The image is then completed with hand engraving to render a finer detail.
